Is this compulsory for the list of goods/services in the trademark application is the same as those in business certificate registration in Vietnam?
Not compulsory.
The list of goods/services for trademark registration should concentrate on main fields which the organization are operating.
- If the list of goods is fitted the actual operation of the business, the costs and time will be saved.
- If the list of goods is similar to all the business lines, the time will be saved for registering a new trademark (from 16-24 months) in case the enterprises widen the activity in the future
- If the list of goods includes all classes in the International Mark Classification (nice), the company can totally and effectively protect the brand. In addition, the registration of the whole goods/services will be considered as an investment in the future.
