A mark which registered in specific color can be protected stronger than those in B/W. In addition to protection to letter/device, color mark also protected as to color and prevent unexpected infringement by using similar colors.
However, color mark is limited in use. It means that the owner only have rights to use correctly the registered mark meanwhile B/W mark has advantages that trademark owner can flexibly use mark more broadly, in different colors to suit the actual business.
Therefore, if eligible, the company should register trademark both in B/W and colors to gain the most effective protection.
