NATIONAL TECHNICAL REGULATIONS ON CONTENT OF FORMALDEHYDE IN TEXTILE PRODUCTS FROM 2019
On April 26, 2018, the Ministry of Industry and Trade issued the Circular No. 07/2018/TT-BCT on amending No. 21/2018/TT-BCT on promulgating national technical regulations on content of formaldehyde and certain aromatic amines derived from Azo colorants in textile products.
In according with this Circular, the above National Technical Regulations shall be applicable from January 01, 2019 instead of May 01, 2018 as prescribed at the Circular No. 21.
The Regulations points out clearly that the content of formaldehyde in the textile products for children under 3 years old must not over 30mg/kg; in textile products in direct contact with skin must not over 75mg/kg; in textile products not in direct contact with skin must not over 300mg/kg.
Content of each aromatic amine shall not exceed 30mg/kg.
The Circular No. 07/2018/TT-BCT takes effect on the signing date.
