TO ORGANIZE AN INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE, SEMINAR HOSTING ORGANIZATION MUST APPLY FOR PERMISSION AT LEAST 30 DAYS IN ADVANCE
On February 21, 2020, the Prime Minister promulgates the Decision No. 06/2020/QD-TTg on organization and management of international conferences and seminars in Vietnam.
Accordingly, international conferences and seminars are foreign-involved conferences and seminars held directly in the territory of Vietnam or held online with at least one end being in the territory of Vietnam, including: Conferences and seminars organized by Vietnamese agencies or organizations and attended or sponsored by foreign parties; Conferences and seminars organized by foreign organizations.
Specifically, the hosting agency shall send full application for the organization of international conference or seminar to the competent person’s agency within 40 days at least for the international conference or seminar under the deciding competence of the Prime Minister and 30 days at least for the international conference or seminar under the deciding competence of the competent person.
Within that, an application comprises: A written application for the organization; The Scheme of organization according to the form; A writing stating opinions of relevant agencies if required; A written agreement of the policy on hosting international conferences and seminars (if any).
This Decision takes effect on April 15, 2020.
