BY 2025, 100% HOUSEHOLDS IN AREAS FREQUENTLY HIT BY NATURAL DISASTER HAVE SAFE RESIDENCES

This is one of the goals set by the Government at the Resolution No. 76/NQ-CP dated June 18, 2018 on natural disaster prevention and fighting.

In this Resolution, the Government considers that natural disasters develop in a more and more complicated and unforeseeable manner, caused heavy losses in human lives, property and infrastructures (with the estimated annual loss of 1.0- 1.5% GDP). Concurrently, sets some specific objectives towards 2025:

- To provide safe residences for 100% households in densely populated areas frequently hit by natural disasters;

- To reduce human loss by 30%, caused by the types of natural disasters of intensity and scale equivalent to those in the 2015-2020 period;

- To supply adequate information on natural disasters for 100% administrations at all levels, agencies, organizations and households nationwide.

- To provide trainings, fosterings and dissemination on skills to prevent and fight natural disasters, especially those occurring frequently in the areas for 100% of the natural disaster prevention and fighting forces…

Accordingly, there are some solutions to archive these goals such as: To invest in modernization and automation of the observation systems and infrastructures with a view to raising the natural disaster forecasting and warning quality; To disseminate knowledge on natural disaster prevention and fighting in schools, particularly of primary and junior- high education levels.

This Resolution takes effect on June 18, 2018.
